Ellie is the egg collector around here! It's the perfect task for a little one and often times means an impromptu egg hunt thanks to a couple of hens we have that prefer to lay their eggs in secret locations. Did you know freshly laid eggs can sit on the countertop for at least a month? As long as you don't clean the eggs with water, which removes the bloom, there is no need to put eggs directly into the refrigerator. Just stay on top of keeping the hen's nesting boxes clean, so you have muck-free eggs to collect every day, and use an egg carton or container (like we have) to store your eggs on your countertop. There's nothing better than farm fresh eggs for breakfast!
